MS Entourage taking over iCal

Hi Everyone,

Can someone advise as to how I remove Entourage from my list of calendars in iCal under "ON MY MAC". I haven't used Entourage for over 3 years now and this calendar keeps taking over iCal. It is causing issues with my creating calendar events and inviting people to the event. I have tried deleting Entourage from my list of calendars and it keeps reappearing.

Please help!

Welcome to Apple Discussions,

1. Turn off Entourage syncing within Entourage.

Make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.

Reset sync history: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iSync/3.1/en/9247.html

Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.

Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.

Don't know what version of OS X your are using but none of the info you give is relevant to Snow Leopard with MobileMe syncing and Entourage 2008. Anyone know how to get rid of Entourage in iCal from that setup?

I'm not sure what information you are basing that statement on. Not only are the given steps relevant troubleshooting syncing issues with iCal (we are in the iCal forum after all), they are steps given by Apple http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2481.

Back to my first suggestion:
1. Have you turned off Entourage syncing within Entourage (this is the source of the calendar in iCal)?
Entourage > Preferences > Sync Services > Remove the check mark for calendars.
