Go to the People album that has these guys in it, select-all, and choose More (...) and choose "These are not"
If they are, say, Dean and Jerry, and maybe People has them both as Jerry, I wouldn't use Jerry when re-naming them. I'd use, maybe, Martin and Lewis, or something that won't confuse Photos with a name it already thinks it knows.
