I did forget to mention the possibility of a swollen battery. That would be extremely rare for a new laptop, but not impossible.
The Trackpads for the recent models have no physical movement. It is all simulated through the haptic nature of the trackpad to make it feel like a physical click and to simulate the clicking noise.
Try creating a new macOS user account. Log out of the current user & log into the new user account. Do you have the same issue with the Trackpad? If not, then it may be some sort of Trackpad configuration setting.
Try booting into Safe Mode to see how the Trackpad is working. If it works in Safe Mode, then it implies you have some third party software installed that is interfering with the normal operation of macOS.
I guess you can also try a DFU Firmware Revive which resets the security enclave chip and system firmware. This likely requires access to another Mac running macOS 15.x Sequoia.
More than likely you have some sort of hardware issue with the laptop. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop.
In the mean time you can enable "Tap to Click" in the Trackpad System Settings or utilize an external mouse/trackpad.
