Sony a6500 does not connect to MacBook Pro in macOS 15.2

Hello,

after updating my MacBook to macOS 15.2, I can no longer connect my Sony A6500 camera to the computer via Sony Imaging Edge Webcam. The camera is not being recognized at all. It worked perfectly with macOS 14.6 before the update. I've tried different cables and ports, but the issue persists. Is this a known problem with the new update? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you!

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.2

Update:

After some more digging I found the following tidbit.

The Imaging Edge Webcam extension may be blocked in the latest macOS version.

Go to Apple > System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Allow for Imaging Edge Webcam.

Open Image Capture in your Applications folder and check to see if it recognizes the Camera and can Import Images.

see > Transfer images in Image Capture on Mac - Apple Support

If Image Capture works, then it would appear that Sony needs to update their macOS 11 and macOS 12 Imaging software to support the later three macOS versions. see > https://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/mac/helper/11/en/index.html
