Wondering if it would help to remove and re-enable selfie mode for the Camera app ...
and / or to check for any options available, in case something was accidentally set.

As we are all Apple users, like yourself, in the community no-one here gets to see what feedbavk or issues are reported to Apple. So unless some-one with a similar issue replies to you here, we have no way of knowing..
If you wish: You can send feedback to Apple yourself, to reach those who work behind-the-scenes, and can make changes to the software if others have a similar issue: We may see a change in a future update.
