AppleCare+ for AirPods purchased from Costco

Purchased air pods from Costco. I wanted Apple care and they told me it was included. It’s not. I tried to buy online but Apple says it’s not eligible. These were a gift for my grandson. How do I get apple care now?

When did you purchase these? You can get Apple Care for devices up to 60 days after purchase.

Thank you! Purchased in December. It took me a bit but I finally was able to connect with support. Turns out I did have AppleCare+. The receipt I have from Costco shows AppleCare+ being added but then voided off. I did not realize AppleCare + was included in the purchase price. Someone could/should have explained that to me. Xmas shopping is tedious enough.
