Final cut pro immediately crashes and event is corrupt

HI. I had Final Cut pro crash on me today (happened many times before but no big deal). I'm using the latest version and now whenever I open Final Cut Pro it immdiately crashes. I've restarted the computer, deleted render / transcoded media, updated apps and operating system. I'm stuck. I need to find a way to save my library. I know the specific project that caused that corruption but can somebody PLEASE help me save this project library? I've got 5 years of work on it and need help. Thank you .

If it immediately crashes, that likely means your preferences files are corrupted. Hold down COMMAND and OPTION when opening FCP and delete/reset them. You may have to set a few things back up to your taste but FCP should open fine after this with your Library intact.
