Unable to connect to new wifi network on MacBook Pro

I changed my wifi password and must have made a mistake - the network is not connected to wifi. I tried to delete it but it does not appear on the list of known networks. It is on the network list doing nothing at all. I tried to create a new wifi network, but lack the skill and any idea of what ip address necessary

to do that. I could do the latter if I had some steps to follow. Hyperventilating. Help please.

Attempting to change the network password when you are outside that network will never work.

With the new password that you set up INSIDE your Router, written down and beside you, click the Wi-Fi Icon in the MenuBar.

Examine the list of network-names available, which should include your new Network.

Select the new network. since you have never successfully joined this network, it will demand the password.

enter the password you wrote down.

post back for additional guidance if this falls apart at any step.

Getting Into a Network you Set Up:

You might not be broadcasting the SSID(the name of your network). So, log into your router, and make sure you have not selected to hide the network or make it private.

Log into the Router with the Default Gateway:

  1. Open: Safari
  2. Tap: the Address Bar
  3. Type: the Default Gateway***
  4. Tap: return
  5. Log In: To the Router
  6. Look for the SSID settings

***The Default Gateway would be wither of these two IP Addresses:

192.168.0.1
192.168.1.1
