Problems Exporting to External SSD from iPhone
I am trying to backup photos from an iPhone 11 to an external SSD. I decided to buy a SanDisk Extreme 2TB SSD so when I am done doing this, I can also backup the photos of other devices. When I tried connecting the SSD to the iPhone with a regular USB-C to Lightning cable, the iPhone failed to recognize it.After a little browsing on the internet, I figured out that the iPhone itself can't provide enough power to establish a connection with the SSD and for this reason, in order to provide extra power, you needed to buy a camera adapter. So, I went to the Apple Store and bought one and tried to connect it. When I connected the adapter it asked me if I wanted to update the accessory and I allowed to to update. It gave me no progress indicator though, so I decided to wait 30 minutes. I then connected the SSD, which caused the iPhone to spit out a message saying the accessory requires too much power. I then connected the external power cord, which caused the iPhone to recognize the SSD. I exported a couple of photos to the SSD and decided to continue tomorrow since it was already late. The next day, however, I was only able to export one batch of photos before the "accessory requires too much power" error appears and the SSD ejects, despite being connected to an external power source. I decided to disconnect and then reconnected everything and then try again, same error message. I did the same thing again, this time restarting the iPhone, same error message. I went to a different wall outlet, same error message. The annoying thing about this is that when connected via the camera adapter, the error keeps appearing as a popup every 5 seconds. Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated!
