If you have an Exchange account, it has to be managed by someone. Most of the time, Exchange accounts are something for work, and as such the work IT department is responsible for it. They would be able to diagnose the problem. You mention the Exchange account being personal email. If this is not work, then you had to have some type of setup that is using Exchange protocol for the mail. That is how you would need to contact.

As far as the Outlook account not sending, it is generally a problem with the SMTP server. That is the outgoing server that sends mail. It could be an authentication issue, a password issue. You may need to remove the account, restart the device, then add the account back again and let it try authenticating.

If the account is working on the computer, then verify that the account settings are the same in the Outlook app as they are on the computer.

If there is currently a password on the mail account that is working, trying to change it on the iPhone won't work/help. If they are working on the computer, you can change the password there, then delete and re-add the account on the phone. That should work.

If I was correct about the number of accounts, do all of them work on the computer? If so, I would remove them all from the iPhone and start from scratch adding the all back again. Just make sure that you copy all of the settings information from the computer so you can duplicate it on the iPhone, including the security information, such as SSL settings, etc.

Given this last bit of information that you provided leads me to this question. What email accounts do you need/want? Since you no longer need a work account, I believe we may be able to get rid of that and try clearing everything and starting over. First, check your Exchange account and any of the other mail accounts and see if they have contacts turned on. That would mean your contacts are saved in those email accounts and we need to save them before we delete accounts. The other thing, I'm wondering what the domain is the mail accounts, especially that Exchange account have. The domain is the name after the "at" symbol. Also, you never said if everything still works on the computer. That would matter too if the errors are just on the iPhone.

I'm sorry, the moderators have edited the domain information and I understand that, since you provided the entire email address.

Yes, you have a mess on your hands. Does that exchange account work on the computer? You can probably delete everything else. However, if you do not have access to that domain, you are going to have a hard time managing that account. Without the password for that Exchange account, we won't be able to delete it and then reconfigure it, and the Exchange administrator my not grant access again if it gets deleted.

Do you have Contacts turned on in iCloud on your phone? You may have to start over completely with email. I may not be able to help you much further. Someone is going to have to help you recover what you can from those accounts. You will need someone that does computer work. You will need someone that can actually see the information we cannot see here. I'm sorry. I thought we might be able to work through it here, but it is much more involved than it looked at first.

thank you! I don't know who was or how i can get in touch with an administrator and i've given up multiple times trying to get help via phone or at Apple or ATT stores. The outlook app on the Iphone is what I'm using . The error is that when i push send, it makes the sound as thought it's sending but then shows "Unable to Send" and it sits in the outbox

PS Works fine on my computer

Okay, I just read the two replies you did while I was typing my reply to you. First I want to verify a few things.

You say you have an Exchange account for personal mail. Then you say you have a regular email account for a past job. Then an Outlook account that doesn't do anything. It appears to me that you have 3 mail accounts. Is that correct?

Then you say that you have retired from your job and there is a job email account, is that the one that you say is the regular mail account for a past job? You mention deleting it. Do you no longer need it?

I want to make sure we are addressing the same accounts, thats all.

Oh good, i had my own personal email long before the job email. that's the one that now shows up as Exchange - it used to just be outlook.

When i started that job, i was given another email for the office that a person in the office added and it works fine. However, I noticed some time after that the problem with my personal no longer sending emails from my phone - only the office email would.

Also, the IT person who was contracted with later made changes to everyone's emails which is when i noticed what i used to use in the "Outlook" now appeared in the"Exchange" account. I was the only one in the office who had a personal outlook account - everyone else had gmail. I think whatever the IT person did might have caused my problem. I do not want to have to contact him because i only no longer work there and more importantly, he was extremely difficult ot communicate with.

Ok. I only want my personal d**********@d**********i.com. that is the domain on the exchange and the

blank outlook account, which is blank.

the work domain is @realinvestments.com

my outlook email works fine on my computer

One other weird thing is that i somehow got a screen name (not sure that's the correct term) and certain emails show up to " justanswer!2*******i" which i think was a login name i set up when i was asking some website for an answer to a pet question about 5 years ago. i have weird stuff

as far as i can tell, contacts are turned on in both work outlook and my exchange account.

Nothing appears in what was my personal outlook
