can’t connect to cellular

i switched my e-sim and now it says SOS. this has never happened before and now it just says sos no matter what i try to do. i tried switching the esim back and it works on the other iphone but then i switched it to this phone and it keeps saying sos. i tried powering it off and airplane mode. what should i do
