Canon EOS Webcam Utility conflict with software on Mac

I have a Canon M6 Mark II which should be able to connect to my computer, and function as a webcam so long as this software Canon EOS Webcam Utility is running in the background.

In my main user account, the M6 is never visible to the system and on the camera, there is an icon that should show up on the screen when connected over USB. This generally never works when I am logged into my main account and connected to the device via USB.

Notably, if I create a new user account, log in to that account, and connect the camera it connects immediately and functions as a webcam with no issues. This leads me to believe one of the myriad pieces of software or system extensions are interfering with the camera being seen while in my main account.

Another notable thing is that if I launch Adobe Lightroom and "Start Tethered Capture" the camera, when plugged in and turned on, immediately goes into USB connection mode, and the computer can control the camera (still no webcam functionality though). Presumably, the act of starting a tethered capture forces the computer to see this device over usb and initiate a connection.

Now, I ran EtreCheck and browsed through all of the extensions and other software, and removed all of the items that I could afford to get rid of, and many of the ones that I assumed could cause this conflict. But still, no change. That said, there is still a lot of stuff installed, but I dont know how to narrow it down or find out which item is causing the conflict without manually uninstalling each one of them, rebooting the machine, and attempting the connection again. If at all possible, I would like to avoid that being the suggested troubleshooting process as it would take me ages, and would make the computer near unusable as I slowly remove software that is important to my day-to-day.

Im hoping to find some way to actually identify the process that seems to be holding my USB connection hostage.

Some software I thought might be involved was Parallels Desktop as it can determine whether your Mac or your virtual machine sees a device connected over USB but even with Parallels totally quit, there is no change. It is strange, though that in my Windows 11 virtual machine, when its running I can tell Parallels that I want the camera to be available to Windows and it connects immediately (to Windows).
