Viewing saved passwords in Safari on my MacBook Air

When choosing to use the automatically generated password option when creating a new account online (Safari browser is up to date), I am unable to see the new usernames/passwords created under Safari>Settings>Passwords. I have to instead to go to Apple>System Settings>Passwords to find them. Has this been a recent change that Apple has done? Does it matter that I can't pull up info on recently created passwords through the Safari settings option? Is there a way to fix this? Although both options are fast, going through Safari settings seems to be a bit faster to access saved usernames/passwords.
