Question

QuickTake not recording videos on my iPhone.

QuickTake via holding the digital shutter button, the camera control button, or the volume button on my iPhone 16 Pro is not working. It only enters the video-mode view with the stop button but the timer doesn't turn red or start (see attached screenshot). I can still take pictures during the video mode with no problem but it does not record a video.

I still have storage space and the iOS is the latest version. I've also restarted my phone multiple times to no avail. I'd like some guidance on how to troubleshoot this. Thank you!

Found this on another board and it worked for me

Go to Settings > Camera > Record Sound > set to Spatial Audio. This solved the issue for me...

Same issues since Nov. talked to multiple specialists and genius bars, and finally today after they had me do multiple clean iOS downloads and even sending me a new phone, the issue still came up, so they’re thinking it’s something attached to my account (did not transfer the iOS and apps from previous phone, considered if an iCloud issue) but they finally told me today they are currently investigating this with other users though it’s a small batch of us amd mostly occurs in 4K quick take.
