My iPhone 16 Pro Max doesn't respond well to touch

I bought my 16 pro max last week and it has a ton of issues with touch sensitivity. With and without the screen protector on, it doesn’t respond well to touch. I have turned touch sensitivity up and down to test it out and nothing works. Any solutions? Haven’t reported to apple yet but they didn’t help with issues with my 13 pro max so hoping to find a creative alternative solution
