I'm trying to install an Epson printer and can't get it to work with my MacBook Pro. It won't + after downloading the installation. Are they not compatible?

What model is the Epson printer..?
You should not need to download anything from Epson for one of their AirPrint printers. You should be able to connect the Printer to your local Wi-Fi network using the quick setup guide, then add the network printer to your Mac.

How are you trying to connect it? I have the same printer/scanner
and it works find connected via AirPrint. You have to select the network on the printer's control window and enter the password for the LAN.
Can you describe in detail what you've tried?
Have you tried System settings > Privacy and security >Local Network and check off any choices re: the Epson Printer?
