White MacBook won't install Snow Leopard....help!

Hi,

I have 10.5.8 installed on my white MacBook (2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) computer.

I'm trying to install Snow Leopard, but during the installation, a message pops up saying "Mac OS X Snow Leopard cannot be installed on this computer".

Will 10.6 not work on this laptop?
