How can I set up a toggle for the action button?

By default, the action button toggles between Ring and Silent. I have a shortcut that sets Silent, media volume down and background noises off.

how do I set up a toggle so with the same button I can undo turning off all the sounds?

Thanks for the reply. I know how to set a shortcut to turn on with the action button. What I want to learn is how to set it up as a toggle. After I turn on the action, I want the next press of the button to turn off the action. This is how it works by default with ring and silent mode.

OK, I don’t know how to do that off the top of my head, but in the shortcut you may be able to see the state of the last change and process it differently the next time. I’m not a shortcut expert, but I’ll see if I can find one and send them a link to this thread.

Thanks. Here is what you can do using the “Get Device Details” action, using it to grab the current volume:

In the first “If” branch, where the media volume is set to 25% (as an example), insert your other actions to set the correct volume to ringtone and background.

In the 2nd branch, where the media volume is set to 0% (silent), insert the other actions to silence ringtone and background.

Now, every time the shortcut is run, it will toggle back and forth between setting the volume to 25% (example) and setting it to silent.

Could you post a screenshot of the shortcut you have?

I'm thinking of using one of the settings you set to detect whether you are in "low distraction mode" or not. Then using a judicious "If" action you could detect whether the iPhone is in "low distraction mode" and, if so, set it to "normal mode" and, if in "normal mode", set it to "low distraction mode".

How can I set up a toggle for the action button?
