Battery module dead after 2.5 years

Genius Bar tells me that it will cost me $500 to fix my 2022 MacBook because the battery module/motherboard failed. I used that computer less than 20 times and kept it plugged in the entire time. Are you kidding me??

Sometimes thing break though they've not been misused. Apple's standard warranty is one year for factory defects and your Mac is now well beyond that. If you didn't not purchase an AppleCare+ extended care plan, then you accepted all the risk of future failure and now that it's unfortunately happened, you will have to pay for any repairs.

Sorry, but that's how it is with any product from any manufacturer. It's of course your decision whether to pay that repair charge or put the money toward another device.

Regards.
