Please do not type in all caps, it is considered shouting and we can "hear " you just fine.

We are end users just like you, Apple is our host however they do not read or participate in user to user forums.

If you have a suggestion (that is what your post appears to be but I'm not sure) for Apple please send it to www.apple.com/feedback.

However, if you have a question, please ask it!

You Want to hide the Text app from the Dock and just call it up when you want? Well just remove the app from the Dock and use Spotlight to launch it when you need it. To do that:

  1. Remove Text Edit from the Dock
  2. To launch Spotlight type Command key + Spacebar and enter Text Edit and it will launch.

The Dock is not necessary to launch an app, there are lots of ways to launch an app. The Dock is just one of those ways.
