Hi, I have MacBook Pro 13 and I’m starting school again for a masters program (all online). I’m having trouble viewing everything on one screen and am looking at different options. I’m wondering if I should do the iMac to have a bigger screen or iPad to still be portable. Anyone that have both that can offer opinions, benefits, or downfalls?

You can’t use the iMac as a second screen for your laptop.
The iPad can’t hold a candle to the computing power of the laptop. Or the iMac, for that matter.
The MBP can drive a second monitor, so that would be the way to go. Put another monitor on your desk and use that in addition to the laptop screen when you don’t have to mobile.
