I have a 5th generation iPad whose battery was fully depleted. I plugged it in and it got to 15% and isn’t charging anymore. I know the cord works because it went from 0-15, but why won’t it charge higher?

That iPad was released 8 year ago, making it quite old in technology terms. According to the link below, Apple will not even replace the battery on that model. It sounds like it is time to purchase a new(er) iPad.
