I think I accidentally added something in settings late last night on my iPhone 16. Now a white bar shows up every time I type. I can slide it to either side to read my text so I thought it was a privacy setting?

It’s probably an Accessibility setting, especially if you were messing around in Settings/Accessibility. You will have to backtrack and try to remember you did.

You are right Lawrence but my son and I have tried backtracking so I am obviously missing it. I changed the settings from clear to white. I now realize it is when I want to magnify a word to correct a spelling or punctuation.
I finally figured this out. I ‘unchecked’ Hover Typing.
