Upgraded to iPhone 16, Lost Vivid — What a Progress!

So, I decided to treat myself and upgraded to the iPhone 16, expecting better everything. But surprise, surprise—one of my favorite features, the Vivid option in Photographic Styles, is nowhere to be found.

I mean, isn’t it fantastic how we "upgrade" only to lose features we actually use? I’ve explored every setting, updated iOS, reset the camera, and even Googled like a pro, but no luck. It seems Apple thought I didn’t need vibrant photos anymore.

After this delightful discovery, I’m left with two choices: keep this "upgraded" phone and mourn the loss of Vivid or sell it and go back to the good old iPhone 15. Honestly, I’m leaning toward the latter.

Anyone else missing Vivid or found a way to bring it back? Apple, care to explain this creative decision?

It will depend on what image format you shoot, HEIF, Most Compatible (JPEG) or ProRaw. ProRaw, because is essentially unmodified data of the sensor does not have styles available.

JPEG has Filters available in the edit mode and multiple Vivid options including Vivid Warm and Vivid Cool.

HEIF has options available before you shoot and in Photos App when you edit. Styles offers Vibrant as an alternative to Vivid filter. Styles offers many more adjustments and the ability to modify the image both before and after the image is made. This greatly enhances your ability to create images exactly like your creative eye and mind envision it.

If you are looking for the particular word termed 'Vivid' and not the Style, then you need to explain what 'Vivid Photographic style' that you are looking for in an iPhone
