Help cracked new iPad Pro 13 inch M4 2024 what next ?

I fell and broke my hip onto my new IPad 13 inch M4 Pro. The screen is cracked luckily it has a protective sheet on it but nevertheless it’s still there and I assume will get worse.

At present it’s okay and unnoticeable.

I looked online and cost to replace averages £600 for the glass only.

I bought this refurbished cost £1000 basic memory and wifi.

Do I take it Apple who charge me for repair and replace with a new unit ?

At which stage I will pay for AppleCare which hadn’t even heard of till now !

Is it true its worth nothing despite working fine and having the crack ?

My objective is to remedy and fix this issue with least costly solution. I am disabled and this really is my only tool to connect with society so there’s a degree of importance and urgency in sorting this out.

Any expert advice would be welcomed please ?

Is the screen what is cracked or just the protective sheet? Have you tried removing the sheet?

If you don't have Apple Care, yes it will be very expensive.

If it's just the glass, they will replace the glass only If there is some other damage it will be replaced for a new model.

Good.

If you mean for trade in to Apple, then yes, Apple will not take damage items for trade in. If you mean for sale privately, you can probably get some money for it, but not much.

The first thing to do, is get an estimate from Apple. You haver no obligation to go on with the fix once you get it, and the repair diagnosis is free.

Then go to 3rd party options and see how much they charge and make a decision. Note third party services providers may void the warranty if any is left on the device.

If you are planing on getting Apple Care+ and if its still eligible, you will want to have it repaired by Apple, otherwise, it will not be eligible for Apple Care+ after it's fixed by someone else.
