Merging two iPads and two iPhones

My husband passed away last year and I would like to merge both our devices together. His were the more recent versions. Mine are old tech now and i fear they won't be supported for long. How do I go about this?

Presumably you wish to (a) merge the data associated with your own AppleID with that of your late husband - and (b) after merging your AppleID data, continue to use your late husbands iPad with your own AppleID account credentials?

If yes - and you know your late husband's AppleID account credentials and device Passcode - the process is relatively straightforward...

Before starting, you would be wise to ensure that your respective devices are backed-up to iCloud or iTunes - as this provides opportunity to recover access to existing data should anything go wrong:

Next, ensure your own data on your own iPad is being synchronised with iCloud:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud - enable all Apps and services that you wish to ultimately "transfer" to your husband's iPad

When you are certain that the necessary preparation steps have been taken, you can "move in" to your husband's iPad. To do so, you will need to sign-out from your husband's AppleID on your husband's iPad (you will need your husband's AppleID credentials to do so):

Settings > [Your Husband's Name / AppleID] > Sign Out

During sign-out, you will be presented with an opportunity to keep existing iCloud data. If your intention is to merge your own data with that of your husband, accept each category that you wish to keep. This data will be downloaded to the iPad.

When you have signed-out, you must shut-down and restart the iPad:

Settings > General > Shut Down

After restarting the iPad, sign-in with your own AppleID from iPad settings; your own AppleID data (as synchronised with iCloud) will be merged with the data previously saved during the earlier sign-out process. You should note that this merge is irreversible.

If you have no further use for your old iPad, or you intend to give it to somebody else, ensure that it is properly erased:
