Phone number for Apple Watch
Does my watch need a separate phone number from my iPhone?

If you have a cellular Apple Watch and sign it up with your cell carrier, they will assign it a number, but that will only be for their billing purposes. It will not be usable to receive or make calls. All calls will go through the number of your iPhone.
