MacPaw - CleanMyMac and Gemini II

I just got a new MacBook Pro - M4 chip. My old one was the Intel chip.

After I had installed Sequoia on my old MacBook Pro, I experience a LOT of trouble which the 3rd Senior Advisor I spoke to said was related to CleanMyMac and to delete it.

I've done so, but I still have an automatic renewal coming up in the next few months.

Question: Are MacPaw products no longer compatible with the new OS? And, are MacPaw products inherently dangerous to Macs?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.2

Software like BrickMyMac are completely unnecessary and only serve to break the system in such a way that you must erase all content and settings, then migrate from a backup without restoring applications.

macOS does not need to be cleaned, optimized, protected, or otherwise maintained. It takes care of that all by itself.

Any app like the so-called "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps are not necessary on a Mac.

Did you uninstall CMM according to the developer's instructions? You can check to see if you've removed all of the supporting files by downloading and running the shareware app Find Any File to search for any files with the application's or the developer's name in the file name.  For the CMM software you'd do the following search(es):

1 - Name contains cleanmymac

2 - Name contains macaw

Any files that are found can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop or Trash bin in the Dock for deletion.

FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages.

If you get warnings that the file can't be deleted because it is in use or used by another app boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and delete from there.

Note:  if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode.  This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will assure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
