Questions on this forum refer to i0S18, I am being offered i0S18.2 by my iphone, I believe because I have had some security concerns . Is it safe to try to update to i0S18.2 on my Iphone 12 ? Will this assist in the recent problems of phishing attempts in mail and now also message centre ?

You can update to 18.2
No update is capable of stopping phishing attempts sent to your email or messages. You can block the senders, but that does little good as scammers rarely use the same sender address/phone number twice.
The individual who figures out how to block spam and phishing messages for good, without blocking legitimate messages, will be nominated for a Nobel prize and probably godhood.

… criminals are focusing their attacks on the “weakest point” — the human — thru some often VERY authentic-appearing phishing schemes.
