Address Book is VERY difficult to use. Any tips? Updates/fixes?

My Address Book is consistent in its poor quality of working. It freezes and I have to reboot it regularly. I get the spinning symbol on every use of the app on my 2023 MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.1.1. But my older MacBook Pro (2014) that this one replaced had similar issues.

I waste a LOT of time every time I try to add, edit, or copy contact information to use elsewhere, because the spinning or freezing happens every time I use the app. When it has to be forced to quit, there's never a choice to send information to Apple so this constant problem gets fixed.

Everything else Apple is very good. But this has been a long-running issue over multiple devices. What should I do to get my Address Book to work better without these problems?

Also, how do I encourage Apple Developers to add regular updates and fixes to this truly frustrating, problematic app?
