Checking for open apps on iPhone 16

On iPhone8 I could double click the home button to see if there are any additional apps open, then close the ones I want closed. In iPhone 16, how do you check to see if there are any apps running

To check for open apps on an iPhone 16, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and without removing your finger, pause in the middle. This will display all your currently open applications. You can then scroll through to see which apps are running in the background and swipe up to close any you wish.
