Since upgrading to OS 15.2 on my (M2) MacBook Air, my Instagram posts do not have the option to play audio on videos that I post. To clarify, if I post a video with sound, it plays perfectly on my iPhone 14 Pro, but not on my desktop computer (i.e., this is not an Instagram rights restriction, it’s a quirk with the OS).

I see no issue on Safari.app Sequoia 15.xxx Currently macOS 15.2 playing Instagram sound. Full stop.
To trouble shoot further you can:
—A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies
Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.
Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
***if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect the charging cable before booting to Safe Mode.
This will make it act as a wired keyboard and a successful Safe Boot mode.
unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing
Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus
all known to cause issues on the macOS

You never state which browser on your Mac...(?) It is hard to speculate.

Hmm ……… I will try the recommended options as time permits.
To clarify, I didn’t say Instagram does not play sound. I said Instagram does not play sound on videos that we post (videos that play perfectly, with sound, on IOS). Apologies if that wasn’t clear. Comments:
To say there’s no problem “full stop” is just not consistent with my experience. I didn’t have this problem. I installed Sequoia. The problem emerged. I posed this question to discover if this issue is unique to me. (Perhaps it is!)
