Transferring videos from photos album on Mac to hard drive

Hi, photo/video lovers!

I was under the impression when I was transferring my videos to my external hard drive the file was copying over as is. When I replay the video copied to the hard drive I can tell the quality was reduced and when I check the info for file size it is slightly smaller. How do I fix and stop this? My settings as far as I'm aware are set to transfer as is, however, they are converting smaller and lowering the quality. Thank you! Happy Holidays!

What do you mean by, "transferring my videos?" How are you doing this "transferring?" Drag and drop, for instance, is not supported in Photos. It may work, or it may not--there are no guarantees.

On the other hand, are you using File>Export>Export Unmodified Original? In that case, I would surely expect it to be "copying over as is," since that's what "unmodified" means. Or are you using File>Export>Export nn videos? That would export an edited version.

Can you let us know how you are transferring?
