Apple pay double click side button not working and greyed out

Hello suddenly double click side button doesn’t work. when trying to double click it turns off the display and the option in the Apple Pay settings to turn on or turn off the double click side button is grayed out. I can’t either turn off or on. I have also tried to change the click speed by slowing it or making it fast. It does make no change. It is only working when inside wallet app.

I’m using iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 18.2
