Tried to put a magic trackpad 2 on 2017 imac 27". It doesn't give me any options for the trackpad under system settings. The trackpad is also stuck on right click mode. Help

Sorry it took so long. I was trying to find an old Magic Trackpad to test. Finally found it. I tried it on a 2017 iMac running Ventura 13.7.2. Once connected, the Trackpad settings open in System Settings. You don't see those?
Just to add, if you got it this Christmas, are you sure it's not a Magic Mouse (USB)? It mght be black if so. And those require Sequoia 15.1.

I guess some obvious questions are, is it charged? Is it paired in the Bluetooth settings? How old is it?
Have you restarted the Mac lately?
Also, are you running any anti-virus, cleaning, optimizing, or VPN apps or software?
If so, disable those and restart the Mac.

Yes the imac was restarted twice. Theres no antivirus or other alike.
Yes it was plugged in and charged for a day. It shows its connected to bluetooth. It was purchased new as a Christmas gift.

Its a magic trackpad with a usb c port on the front edge, has a power sliding switch same edge as charge port

No, Ventura is the latest version of macOS you can run on a 2017 iMac. If you purchased it within 14 days you can return it for a refund.
Its also stuck on right click mode, not sure how that happened and since theres no settings option i cant change it to left click.
