Grayed-out Apple account settings on iPad despite home Wi-Fi connection

When I go into settings on my iPad, the top box ( my name, apple account, icloud+, …) is grayed out and does not let me select or open it? It is available on my iphone. Both iPad and iphone show they are connected to my home wifi. Although, when i attempt to open one of my aol user name accounts it says it cannot because I am not connected to the internet , which is not true!?

I would try to:

  1. Shut down all your devices (iPhone, iPad, TVs, printers) disconnecting them from your modem-router.
  2. Turn off your modem router for at least 1 minute.
  3. Turn your modem router back on, waiting for its complete auto-configuration (it might take some minutes).
  4. Turn on your devices, making sure they are connected to your wifi network and have Internet access.


If the issue still persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Contact Apple for support and service
