Iphone 13 Pro Max Sudden Green Screen

Hello All,

I purchased an iphone 13 Pro max and gifted it to my father cause I Upgraded to 15 Pro MAx. all of the sudden my dad's 13 Pro Max's screen went all green without any obvious reason as he didn't drop nor wet the device. I contacted apple store and their representatives are charging $400 dollars to repair the phone's display even tho as per them this is a known issue with iPhone 13 & 14 devices where the screen will suddenly go green after a while.

has anyone experienced this? if so, what did you do? should I pay for the repair?
