Why is my number being blocked on iMessage and FaceTime?

I have very frustrated, I’ve been added to FaceTime calls with other random numbers two days ago and after my iMessages stopped working my text were green and my Gmail was texting instead of my number. I called Apple care assistance and they said my number was flagged for spam and I was blocked. They unblocked it and after worked fine. I SET MY PHONE DOWN AND CAME BACK 6 minutes LATER and THE SAME ISSUE WAS HAPPENING AGAIN. I thought something was wrong with my phone and I spent all day going to the my carrier store to find a fix and then Apple Store and then they set me another call appointment with a Apple care advisor just for them to tell me I was blocked again was I was very confused cause I have done nothing to been blocked for a 2nd time especially a first time. Then they tell they are unable to unblock my number and tell me to a unknown time to see if there is a “chance” and if I’m “lucky” enough if it can be unblocked in the future. I don’t want to get a new number I’ve had this number for about 2 decades and I’m very unsatisfied and irritated with this issue. I need help ASAP and need this fixed!

I’ve now been blocked a second time, and what’s most frustrating is the lack of clear answers. The first time, I wasn’t told why it happened—just that a rep “refreshed something” on their end and suggested I call back if it happened again. No mention of spam, no warning that it could be permanent.

Since then, I’ve seen multiple posts, where people’s iMessage randomly started working again, which only adds to the confusion. One rep told me this isn’t Apple’s fault but rather an issue with the carrier blocking numbers. If that’s true, why aren’t we given the ability to dispute it? I should at least be able to confirm that I wasn’t flagged for spam.

This situation has dragged on since the beginning of the year, and I know I’m not the only one dealing with it. I’m sharing this because it’s frustrating to be left in the dark, and I hope Apple starts handling these cases with more transparency. People rely on their phones for work, family, and everyday life—being locked out without warning or explanation isn’t acceptable. After 22+ years with the same number and countless Apple devices, I expect better. Something has to change.
