Thank you … how about a way to save it to a file on my iPhone ?

If you have a Mac, simply AirDrop the PDF to your phone after saving the messages with iMazing (choose 'Save as PDF' instead of a printer). With a PC, you can email it to yourself.

You will need a computer, however. To my knowledge, there's no way to export an entire message thread using only an iPhone. You could try scrolling through the messages while screen recording if you don't have a computer.
