Yes, you can keep it plugged in all day.


A good rule of thumb is to plug it into ac power when that’s available and unplug it when you have to be mobile. The charge management by the OS is robust. It will do what is necessary to maintain the battery.

That is pretty much what I do with my MacBook AIR m2.

I noticed that Apple has improved the intelligence of the charging system.

The charging system may only charge it to 80% and trickle charge it after that to maintain the state.

This way the battery is not going full cycles between 10-80% which generally reduces the life of most rechargeable batteries, besides drastic temperatures.

The MacBook Air M2 is probably the best Apple Mac laptop I have ever owned.

I thought the absence of a fan would be an issue, but it is not.

The RISC processors of the M2 keep the temperature down compared to the Intel Apple laptop I owned.
