Where did my Daily Cash Back go?

I am a CPA and just reconciled the Apple Card Statement for 2024. First of all, I had to do that by hand! I highly recommend that you add a cvs download so I don't have to do that by hand anymore. Second, where did my Daily Cash Back go? It was not applied to my balance. Would you please explain to me where my Daily Cash Back went? Thanks in Advance. Sincerely, Angela

There is no one best card for every user. Different horses for different courses. The card was designed from the ground up to tightly integrate into the safety and security of iPhones. That’s just the reality of it and after 5+ years I really don’t see them changing.

In my experience as a frequent contributor here, those that reconcile, use third party apps. The apps will import the files that Apple Card exports. Some apps sync automatically so no downloading is needed. Stone Age tech to me is doing many things on a computer. My work and running several businesses is all done on iPhone and iPad.

The online experience is deliberately barebones. It’s meant to offer just the basics in case an iPhone is lost or broken and facilitate making payments without the required device.

In regard to unclaimed Daily Cash Back, the specifics are in the Apple Card terms & conditions. If Apple Cash is setup, unclaimed Daily Cash is deposited into the cardholders Apple Cash card. Cardholder can choose to immediately send Daily Cash to Apple Savings (a High Yield Savings Account). If Apple Cash is not setup, the funds Daily Cash back is held in a non-interest bearing account controlled by Goldman Sachs. The funds will be instantly deposited into an Apple Cash account when setup, received in a check or applied to outstanding Apple Card statement due balance.

I’ve noticed an oddity with the current system—it seems designed for people who reconcile their finances on their phones. Honestly, I don’t know anyone who does that. Do you?

When I log in through a browser to do my reconciliations (like most people with a computer-based workflow), the download option isn’t even available. So, let me get this straight: I’d need to download each statement on my phone, email it to myself, and then open it on my computer? That feels like we’re going back to the Stone Age of tech convenience.

As a coder myself, I’d be happy to help you install a download button on the browser platform—it seems like a pretty straightforward solution!

In regards to the Cash Back:

The setup for cash back also baffles me. The card is linked to my family, and each person has “their” cash back allocated. But one family member’s phone doesn’t even allow them to enable Apple Cash. How do I solve that issue?

More intriguing is this question: What happens to the unclaimed cash back? Most people don’t bother to reconcile, so where does all that unclaimed money go? Are we talking about millions left in limbo? And who pockets it at the end of the day—Apple or Goldman Sachs?

I’d love to hear more about how this process can be simplified for real-world users. Until then, I guess I’ll keep wishing for that mythical browser-based download button!

You can download statements in various formats. This has been available for about five years.

Daily Cash is deposited into your Apple Cash account, if you set it up, as advised, when you opened your Apple Card account. Did you setup a HYSA (Apple Savings) which is another option?
