Turning on timestamp for iMessages

How do i turn on timestamp for all incoming and outgoing texts in iMessages?

It's always on as far as I am aware. To see the time of an individual message touch and hold anywhere on the screen then move your finger to the right. The messages move accordingly to reveal the time to the right of a message.


A day of messages will have the name of the day and the time of the first message for that day at the top of the first message for that day, in the centre of the screen.
