What kind of keyboard did you get? There are a couple dozen different ones.

If you got the azerty keyboard normally used in Belgium, and are using a French input source, the keys are totally different than for English keyboards. You can use Keyboard Viewer to see which key does what for nomal, shift, option, and option shift.

To make any keyboard behave like a swedish keyboard, go to system settings > keyboard > text input > edit > all input sources, and use the + button at the bottom to add Swedish to the list, and then select Swedish in the Input Menu in the Menu Bar at the top right of the screen.
