I finally bought the Benq PD3205UA, which though pricey in India as compared to the other options came with reviews. My confusion began with watching the Video by Hunter King where he returned a 4K monitor to get a 1440p monitor. I then saw the video by Kyle Erickson about 4k scaling and then Gary's take on this on MacMost.
With all of this, one can really get confused and therefore the questions. But as I got deeper into this, I finally realised that a 4K option is right and therefore went in for a Monitor that has good colour reproduction between the MacBook Air's screen and the monitors.
Happy to note that this works well and I am using the Monitor at a resolution of 2560X1440, whereas the Monitors default is 1920x1080. I have also tried it at 3008x1692 which is still not very small, but the top resolution of 3840x2160 does make the menu's and other stuff really small.
I have yet to use it with more intensive programs like Davinci Resolve extensively but I do not see any issues when working with smaller projects. None of the photography programs posed an issue. I have stopped using Adobe so cannot comment but ON1, Nikon Studio, Topaz Ai all work fine.
I am using the Monitor with two Macbook Airs, one MacBook Air 2012 - Intel I7 running Open Core with Sonoma, and the other a M1 MacBook Air with 16GB ram. I will buy another monitor from Benq eventually so that I have a two monitor setup, but not dual for the M1 due to the limitation but maybe eventually buy a Mac mini. As of now not so keen to upgrade as I am a hobbyist and not a professional photographer. Most of it is for personal pleasure and family events.
Hope this helps others who are wondering what Monitor to buy. The Monitor works without an issue with both the Macbook Airs and the switching between the two is excellent. I have used the wired Keyboard and mouse so have the advantage of using the inbuilt KVM port on the Benq Monitor. The Puck makes switching easy.
