Incorrect Storage Information in System Settings > Storage on Mac Mini M4
I'm encountering an issue with my Mac Mini M4 running macOS 15.2 (24C101). The storage information displayed in System Settings > General > Storage is incorrect.
- It shows only 14.54 GB used out of 994.66 GB, but when I check the Disk Utility, the actual usage is much higher (78.89 GB used, as expected).
- The Applications section in System Settings > Storage also shows incorrect values (e.g., 26.34 GB, which doesn't align with actual usage).
- I've already tried the following steps:
- Restarting the Mac.
- Clearing caches (sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/*).
- Rebuilding the Spotlight index using sudo mdutil -E /.
- Checking for hidden files or snapshots using tmutil.
- Resetting NVRAM/PRAM.
None of these steps resolved the issue. The incorrect storage info persists.
The storage info in Disk Utility is accurate, and the system is functioning normally otherwise.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a fix or a known bug causing this?
Thank you in advance for your help!
