Hi, does anyone know of a way of modifying the starting timecode of a multicam clip in fcpx after it has been created? The option is greyed out and I can't find a way around it, other than creating a new multicam clip, but then I would loose my favourites/rejected ranges.

But if you did create a new Multicam clip from scratch, you would lose any editing you did in the Project timeline from the original Multicam clip. Simply because you'd end up with two separate Multicam clips.

Thanks for taking the time to write.
The reason why I’m asking is the following: I’m working with over 30 interviews (each about 1.5 hours long) in a minority language, all shot with two cameras. In order to log and ultimately edit, I have to create translations and then translation-transcripts of each interview. No translation software can do that for me, as it is an almost forgotten language. So my workflow is as follows: I create a multicam of an interview, add the multicam into a new project, record an English translation into the timeline as a voice over, export, have a transcription software write it down for me, create a separate transcript pdf for later use, as well as a fcpxml file, I import the fcpxml into my fcpx library, copy the titles, go into the multicam’s close up angle, create a compound clip, go into it and paste my titles. Then I can see the titles in the browser, and I mark favourites/rejected ranges as well as keywords for each section of the interview in the browser. It’s great to be able to skim through all the long interviews and actually read what people are saying.
The problem is that I have changed my workflow slightly during the process. When I started I used the camera’s timecode as the beginning timecode for the Multicam clips, but later found out that it works better to start the new multicams at 00:00:00, so when I export and create the transcripts I have clear new timecodes which match the multicam. That’s easier to navigate.
Therefore it would be great to just modify the beginning timecode of the first batch of multicams, so I don’t loose the favourite/rejected ranges (nor the keywords) in the browser. I see now that this is not possible.
It isn’t the biggest problem in the world, as I will mainly edit from the browser and not from the pdf transcripts, but it would be nicer if all the timecode were consistent.

Timecode is timecode. Doesn't matter what the start is, cause you're only working with Multicam and Compounds.
I'd not worry about transcoding until the edit is finished. THEN go do your translations, and work with them in the Project timeline. Only worry about the Project timeline and sub-titles. I don't see the need to go back to the Multicam once it is edited.
