Like @Grant mentioned, Apple has multiple versions and even revisions of Logic Boards for a single model designation. And as @Grant mentioned some versions had only an Intel GPU while others had an AMD GPU.....that accounts for the extra extension on the heatsink as well as the other circled components near the heatsink. Any 2015 Logic Board for a 15" model will fit & work just fine in a MBPro 15" (2015) laptop.

Yes, the Logic Boards for the 2013 and 2014 models are very nearly the same physical layout, but they won't work in a 2015 model...both for the electronics and in fact there may even be extremely slight differences for the physical mounting points.

If you purchased this Logic Board, then return it. If you don't have confidence in the seller, then you should not be using that vendor. A good parts vendor will have exact information about the parts they are selling. Unfortunately the majority of online sellers have no clue about the parts they are selling.

Unfortunately there is no good way of identifying Logic Boards. There is no central repository for identifying Logic Boards. You need to know the source and/or trust the vendor.

Having said all this, I just noticed that there appears to be another connector on the right side of the Logic Board in your photo near the fan connector and a cutout where there is a gap on the MLB while the installed MLB has that item soldered to the MLB (almost looks like an audio jack, but cannot say for sure).

2015 is an interesting year for 15-in MacBook Pro.

My list says there were both Integrated graphics models (Intel graphics only) and Dual graphics (AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory) models that year.

So presuming they just sent you the wrong one of those two, what's under the heat distribution rail ? intel chip alone, or Intel chip AND AMD chip as well?

and which one did you expect?
