Apple Pay holds no money, so no money can be pending on it. It is a payment conduit only for use is stores and websites and some apps.

Do you mean something else, like a refund from an App purchase that is still not completed?

Apple Pay does not hold money nor can it receive any money in any way. If your son sent money over Apple Cash, then the money should be in the Apple Cash card in your Wallet app. This has nothing to do with Apple Pay.

If he did something else to send the money, then you need to explain what that was.
