New apple tv not pairing with phone keyboard

I have a new apple tv 4k. I've paired it with my iphone. I've made sure keyboard notifications are turned on in my iPhone. But it never gives me the option to use my phone keyboard, and I'm really sick of using the remote to type in all my account info for all the apps. How do i get to use my phone keyboard on the apple tv?

Apple TV no longer prompting to use iPhone for keyboard I just updated the Apple TV software to 16, prior to this, when searching, for example in App, the keyboard option to use iPhone would be prompted. Now since the update, no longer occurring. Yes, on the same network. Yes, Bluetooth on and Wifi on. Yes, Device is listed in Apple TV for approved devices. Nothing changed except the update. Can't use iPhone to type into Apple TV search bar after TVOS 17.5 update It used to be that whenever I opened a search page on an Apple TV app, whether it was the top-level search app or a search page in a streaming app, I'd get a prompt on my iPhone (if it was unlocked) allowing me to open an iPhone keyboard in the Remote app. Since the latest TVos update to 17.5, I still get this prompt, and when I tap on it the Remote app opens, but no keyboard appears. This makes search on the Apple TV extremely laborious, selecting every letter one by one. Anyone else seen this? Any known fix?

appletv and iphone needs to be on the same wifi network, it will not work across the internet

some wifi routers keep 2.4Ghz wifi and 5Ghz wifi and wired ethernet as separate network if yours do and the 2 devices are on each their network it will not work unless you set your wifi router to bridge the networks
