Stolen IP15 Pro Max, what do I do?

My iPhone 15 pro max had been stolen and I have already turned off my sim, it's pending on lost mode so I don't know what to do. What can I do if it gets sold for parts? most of my iCloud couldn't back up all of my memories.

No, you must buy AppleCare+ within 60 days of the purchase. And your limited warranty did not cover loss or theft, only AppleCare+ with Loss and Theft would have covered it.

You can see if your homeowners insurance covers it, and, if you purchased it with some credit cards their loss coverage may help.

In general, you can’t buy any insurance after the fact. Think about it: I could purchase life insurance on someone after they died, or on my house after it burned down.

George Bernard Shaw wrote an essay explaining insurance: On the Vice of Gambling and the Virtue of Insurance. I couldn’t find any reprints of it to link to, but it is hilarious and covers your question very well.

if I was to pay for apple care+ now would I still be allowed a replacement?

AppleCare+ is only available for purchase for 60 days from the date of your purchase of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, so that option expired about 10 months ago.

Your Limited Warranty.....which you say has just expired.....did not cover theft or loss of the iPhone, so even if your original warranty was still in force, it would not help in this case.

It's a real long shot.....but ask about whether your home insurance might cover the loss, or renter's insurance if you are currently renting. Nothing to lose by asking.

Well it’s too late now to say that you can rent up to 1 TB of iCloud storage, starting at 99¢ a month for 50GB.

There are many ways of preserving photos and videos. Did you do any of these?

  • iTunes backup
  • Transfer your photos and videos to your computer via USB cable
  • emailed, texted or messaged the items to friends or family
  • Sync to Google Photos
  • Sync to some other photo archiving service such as Shutterfly
  • Sync to Dropbox
  • Sync to box.com
  • Sync to Microsoft OneDrive
  • Sync to Amazon Photos
  • back up to Livedrive
  • Backup to any other backup or archiving service
  • Transfer them to a Flash drive through the lightning port on your iPhone, using a product such as SanDisk 64 GB iXpand Flash Drive Go - Apple

A final option is if you synced your photos to iCloud, you have a Mac, and you use Time Machine to back up your Mac automatically, you can open Time Machine and restore the photo library to an earlier date. To do this on your Mac open Finder, then click on Pictures in the sidebar and launch Time Machine. Go to a time before the photos were deleted and restore

Photos Library.photoslibrary. (If you had ever changed the name of the photo library restore that file instead).

If the answer is no to all of the above your photos are gone forever.
